The men (and women) of the 55 Fighter Squadron are hosting a social event on Saturday, March 6 , th th 2010. It will be in LAS VEGAS!

The purpose is four-fold: 1) provide an opportunity for squadron alumni to interact with the active duty members of the Squadron; 2) provide an opportunity for the alumni to gather with old friends in a casual environment; 3) inform the alumni of the current status of the Squadron as they prepare to deployed to the Middle East, Again; and 4) inform the current members of the Squadron what it was like to deploy, again - to Wheelus, Zaragoza, Aviano, Cigli, Nouasseur, Victor, and on and on and on...!

The entire squadron will be at Nellis AFB for a two week Red Flag, one week of non-exercise flying, followed by a two week Green Flag. The 6 of March is the Saturday after the Red Flag exercise so it was th selected as the best time for the pilots to unwind and not have consider the briefing, debriefings and mission prep. A lot of the squadron won~t be available on Friday as the debriefing for the last days runs late into the evening.

Spouses are included and several of the spouses from Sumter will be joining the festivities.

  • 0830 -1000 Breakfast - Alumni and active duty
    Introductions, Squadron update briefing.
    Guest speaker or "there I was...."
  • 1000- 1300 Tour Nellis AFB (tbd), F-16CJ
  • 1000 - 1700 Hospitality Room open No host bar. Squadron displays. Mission Brief. Meet and Greet. Visit. Story- telling. No polygraphs available!
  • 1800 - 2200 Buffet dinner - Alumni and active duty
    No speaker. Short program.

So put the 6 of March 2010 on your schedule. The registration form and notes are attached. Please fill th out the form and mail it to me with your check. You can email me the form or let me know that you have put the form and check in the mail. Sorry for the short fuse on this but we only finalized the concept in November and with the holidays it~s been burners all the way. Please consider this an opportunity beyond that of a normal reunion as it is a real chance to meet with those who have followed in our footsteps!!!
